Ester Castaneda

WESLACO - Ester N. Castaneda, 94 left to be with the Lord on Good Friday April 3, 2015 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco surrounded by her family. She was born to Antonio and Carmen Tijerina Navarros on August 22, 1920 in Mercedes, TX. She is now reunited with her parents and her husband Pablo R. Castaneda, Sr.; her son Joseph Pablo, Juan Jose “Johnny” Castaneda, and her siblings Cipriana Silva, Marisa Arteaga, Elida Molina who have preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory, are her loving children Pablo Jr. (Estela) Castaneda, Maria Eden (Wilbert) Cardenas, Rolando (Berta) Castaneda, Mary Ester (Robert) Losoya, Evangelina (Eleazar) Gonzalez, and Blanca Estella Gallegos.

She will also be greatly missed by her 12 grandchildren and her seven great-grandchildren and her loving brother Guadalupe “Lupito” Navarro from San Antonio

Our dear Mother was a very special humble woman of great faith. She provided us with a great example of strength, dedication and an enormous amount of love.

Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Leticia Volpe and staff for their care and support and to caregivers Maria Castillo, Hilda Medrano and Delfina Macias.

Family will receive friends on Monday April 06, 2015 from 5 pm to 9pm with a 7pm rosary at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lipanadna Castaneda, Christopher Castaneda, Paul Antony Castaneda, Daniel Rubio, Nathaniel Losoya and Emmanuel Ibarra.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2pm Tuesday April 07, 2015 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Weslaco, TX.
