Weslaco- Santos Carmona, 70, passed away on Wednesday, April 4th, 2018. She was born on May 27th, 1947 to Feliberto Ramon and Andrea Villalon in Santa Maria, Texas. Santos was raised with eleven other siblings and learned the value of hard work at a young age.

She and her family were migrants and would spend many summers working up North. They were working in Colorado when Santos was a young teenager when she met her future husband, Pedro, who happened to be from Weslaco . They were inseparable ever since. They were married on November 24th, 1962 and spent the rest of their lives together.

During there 55 years of marriage, Santos and Pedro raised their five children, Diana, Pedro, Sylvia, David, and Rene, in Weslaco. Pedro was a truck driver and Santos worked along his side to make sure his business was a success. They were a great team. When Santos was not working or taking care of her children or grandchildren, she loved to color and paint. She was naturally artistic and Easter was one of her favorite times of years when she colored Easter eggs and bunnies.

Santos will mostly be remembered by her strong work ethic and devotion to God and family. She was selfless and known to do without so that her children would not have to. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and a blessing to all who knew her.

Santos is preceded in death by her parents, Feliberto and Andrea Ramon and her brother, Armando Ramon.

She is survived by her loving husband Pedro L. Carmona Sr. of nearly sixty years, her children, Diana Carmona Gonzalez (Joe) of Dallas, Pedro Carmona Jr., Sylvia Carmona Silva (Pedro), David Carmona (Leticia Caballero), and Rene Carmona Sr. (Maria del Carmen), all of Weslaco, sisters, Mariana Garza (Mario), Ofelia Solis, Julia Sharp (Fred), Irma Villarreal (Jose), Hermelinda Uribe (Orlando+), and Esmeralda Smith, brothers, Orlando Ramon, George Ramon (Gloria) and Roberto Ramon, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
