Alberto Castro

January 9, 1957 — July 15, 2014

WESLACO – Alberto Castro, 57, passed away at Knapp Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born to Ruperto and Isabel Castro. He was a 1976 Weslaco ISD graduate, former employee of USDA, local Humane Society and also worked for City of Weslaco. He is survived by brothers, Ruben (Blanca) Castro and Hector (Celina) Castro and sisters, Lianna Castro, Janie Castro, Sylvia Castro and Cristy Castro. Also surviving are his beloved nieces and nephews, Lauren Arce, Michelle Martinez, Crissette Mojica, Armando Filoteo, Ruben Castro, Veronica Castro Givalancz, Joshua Arce, Valauren Pena, and Hector Castro Jr. Also surviving Mr. Castro are 12 great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place today, Thursday July 17, 2014 from 1:00 – 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco with interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Serving as pallbearers are, Ruben Castro, Hector Castro, Ruben Castro Jr., Josh Arce, Jose Mojica and Hector Castro Jr.
