Daniel L. Walden

October 7, 1967 — September 27, 2021

Daniel Lowell Walden, 53, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 27th, 2021, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. Daniel was born in Puyallup, Washington, on October 7th, 1967, to Charles and Joyce “Darlene” St. John Walden.

Daniel moved to the Valley when he was a young adult. He went to the police academy and dedicated his career to serving the community as a first responder. Daniel was a paramedic and owned an ambulance company, M.T.S. Daniel worked in law enforcement as a police officer for
many municipalities. For many years, Daniel worked as a deputy for Donna
Independent School District and worked his way up to chief. During his career with the school district, Daniel simultaneously taught many officers throughout the state of Texas as an outstanding instructor.
Daniel also worked as a security officer when called upon and was always willing to serve.

Daniel loved playing video games with his sons, Daniel and Isaiah. His favorite game was “Destiny.” He also loved music and listening to his favorite music videos in loud surround sound. Daniel enjoyed long road trips with his family. In addition, he liked to explore unique destinations, local and out of state. South Padre Island, Nueces River in the city of Uvalde, and The Medina's Ranch in Duvall County were a few of his favorite local spots.

Most will remember Daniel for his selfless acts of service. He was a dedicated first responder and contributed to the local community, and made it a better place. Including Brooks County, where he volunteered. Daniel was confident and driven. When he set a goal, he always accomplished it.
Daniel was also very loving and accepting and was able to see the best in others.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Veronica Medina Walden, and sons, Daniel Mario Walden and Isaiah Charles Walden.
