Weslaco- Felipa San Miguel, 87, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019, at her home in Weslaco. Felipa was born on March 30, 1932, to Gilberto Gonzalez and Paula Puentes in Mexico. She moved to the United States and became a naturalized citizen in 1967.

Felipa married the love of her life, Antonio San Miguel.

Felipa was a hard worker and migrated to California from 1967 to 1974. She continued to work in the agriculture industry in the fields planting all native fruits and vegetables. She and Antonio had nine children, and Felipa eventually became a dedicated homemaker, caring for her husband and children. She continued to work hard, making sure the children always had a hot meal, and the house was neat and tidy.

Felipa is preceded in death by her parents, Gilberto and Paula Gonzalez, husband, Antonio San Miguel, sons, Arturo, and Julian San Miguel, daughter, Oralia Gutierrez, brother, Martin Gonzalez, and sisters, Maria De la Luz Morales and Francisca Gonzalez.

She is survived by her children, Felipa Guzman (Adolfo), Benito San Miguel (Virginia), Antonio San Miguel (Juanita), Julio L. San Miguel (Herminia), Sergio San Miguel (Tammy), Miguel Angel San Miguel, brother, Armando Gonzalez, sister, Sofia Enriquez, twenty seven grandchildren, and thirty four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October,11th, from 1-9 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 12th, at 10 am, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Weslaco. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.

Serving as pallbearers will be Edgar San Miguel, Reynaldo San Miguel, Jose de Jesus Gutierrez, Antonio San Miguel, Sergio San Miguel Jr., and Andres Ismael San Miguel.
