Michael Miramontes

Michael Miramontes, 38, passed away suddenly from the COVID virus on Saturday, July 4th, 2020.

Michael was born in Powell, Wyoming, on July 23, 1981, to Luis Miramontes Sr. and Gracie Colunga. He was the youngest of three. Michael grew up in Donna, where he graduated from Donna High.

During the daytime, Michael worked as a cook at Chili’s restaurant for the past fifteen years, but his passion was in the entertainment industry. Michael always had a love for music. So, by night Michael was a well-known DJ. He began working as a DJ in his early 20s. Michael continued to entertain people for the rest of this life.

Michael will always be remembered for his loveable personality. His natural joy and jovial nature lit up any room. He was always happy and loved nothing more than spreading his joy to others.

Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Aniceto Colunga, and paternal grandmother, San Juana Miramontes.

He is survived by his mom, Gracie Aguirre (Abel) of Donna, dad, Luis Miramontes Sr. of Donna, brothers, Luis Miramontes Jr. (Sonia) of Elsa, Eric Miramontes (Xenia) of Donna, nephews, Jonathan and Hector Garcia Jr., and nieces, Ashley Garcia, Erica, and Xianna Miramontes.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7th, from 12 pm to 6 pm and Wednesday, July 8th, 9-1 pm. at McCaleb Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 8, at 1 pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Burial will follow at Val Verde Memorial Garden Cemetery in Donna.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hector Garcia Jr., Jonathan Garcia, Armando Vasquez, Ralph Almazan, Mauricio Vasquez, and Jaime Cuevas.
