Mercedes, TX - Rufina Wroblewski (55) passed away on February 17th at Knapp Hospital, Weslaco, TX after complications from Covid-19.
Rufina was born in Weslaco, TX to Rafael and Tomasa Sanchez on April 24, 1965. She graduated from Washington high school (South Bend, IN). Rufina was an avid 5k runner, loved listening to music, and reading Daniel Steel books. She graduated with a nursing degree from Bethel College in 2008 (Mishawaka, IN). In 2009 she pursued her career as a traveling nurse in Brownsville, TX.
She is survived by her three children Samuel (26), Estelle (22), Henry (19), and their father; her former spouse Eric Wroblewski (57) of South Bend, IN. Also survived by many siblings Guadalupe, Francisca, Irma, Rafael Jr., Maria, Linda (Van Durmen), and many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Tomasa, and brother Gelacio (Joe) Sanchez.
A celebration of life will be held in South Bend/ Mishawaka and will be determined at a later date.
