Vicente Ortiz Jr.

Donna- Vicente “Bones” Ortiz Jr., 29, passed away in a tragic accident on Thursday, August 4th, 2022. Vicente was born on July 29th, 1993, to Vicente Sr. and Rosalba Ortiz in Weslaco, Texas. Vicente grew up in Donna with his older sister Brenda. Vicente graduated from Donna 3-D Academy in 2013.


Vicente had a servant’s heart and eventually worked his way up to Law Enforcement Corrections Officer at the Hidalgo County Jail. He was passionate about the exhilaration, fear, relaxation, and pleasure that could only be experienced on his motorcycle. Vicente was a longtime member of the Redeemers L/E M/C, a Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. He spent many weekends with his biker “brothers” and family making priceless memories on the road.


Vicente was an outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, and a good barbecue. Vicente was adventurous, outspoken, and had the drive to succeed. But, most importantly, Vicente “Bones” was a loving father, a beloved son, a faithful brother, and an unsung hero loved and respected by countless friends and family.

Vicente is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Antonio Chavez Lopez, and paternal grandparents, Petra and Bruno Abrego Ortiz.

He is survived by his parents, Vicente Sr. and Rosalba Ortiz, wife, Deborah Ortiz-Morales, son, Vicente Ortiz III, sister, Brenda Gutierrez (Danny), nephews and niece, Jaden, Jeshua, Jathan, and Bella Rose Gutierrez.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 7th, 1 pm-9 pm, with a celebration of life at 7 pm, officiated by Pastor Lori De Los Santos. Visitation will continue on Monday, 10 am-1 pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home, followed by burial at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna at 2 pm with Honor Guard.
