Alamo- Arnaldo Olivas Sr., a vibrant soul born on November 28, 1980, in the heartland of Mexico, departed this earthly realm on December 14, 2024, in the comforting embrace of McAllen Medical Center. His journey was one of love, adventure, and artistry, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Arnaldo grew up in Imperial, a small town in West Texas. He has been passionate about sports since he was a toddler. Arnaldo flourished at Buena Vista High School, where he was not only a gifted athlete, excelling in football, baseball, and basketball but also a natural artist. His talents shone brightly, earning him a scholarship in design work, though his multi-faceted interests painted the tapestry of his life. He navigated through the worlds of sports and academics with precision and passion—qualities that would also define his professional life.
In the realm of construction, Arnaldo crafted a reputation for safety and skill, particularly in scaffolding, a testament to his meticulous nature. With hands that deftly assembled and disassembled towering structures, he ensured that every worker beneath them could do their job confidently and securely. His commitment to his craft was reflected in every project he undertook, making him a respected figure among his peers.
Yet, beyond the steel and structure, Arnaldo was a father whose love knew no bounds. His heart beat strongest in the company of his family, where he was a beacon of support, fervently attending every one of Junior’s sports events, particularly those exhilarating football games. He transformed mundane afternoons into grand adventures, whether playing outside with the kids or engaging them in his artistic pursuits—drawing, drafting, and sewing. His daughter, his “princess,” saw him as her superhero, embodying every ounce of courage, joy, and devotion a father could offer.
Arnaldo’s zest for life encompassed more than just his family; he was a dreamer and a lover of stories. The thrill of adventure movies fueled his imagination, from the brave exploits of Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers to the heroism of Marvel Comics. He also enjoyed and appreciated all types of music.
With a personality that sparkled with humor and a spirit bursting with adventure, Arnaldo’s laughter was contagious, and his kindness was limitless. He was a nurturing figure to his children, step-sons, and beloved nephew, embracing them all with a fatherly warmth that will forever echo in their hearts.
Arnaldo Olivas leaves a legacy defined not merely by his accomplishments but by the immense love cultivated within his family. The proudest moments of his life were spent in the laughter and happiness of those he held dear, moments that will be cherished as enduring chapters in his story. His journey may have come to a close, but the light he brought into this world will continue illuminating the hearts of those who loved him.
