Gloria Gonzalez

Mercedes- Gloria Gonzalez, a beloved homemaker and the heart of her family, passed away peacefully at her home on July 18, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on June 8, 1931, in Mexico, Gloria was a radiant presence in the lives of all who had the joy of knowing her. Her vibrant spirit, joyful laughter, and warm heart filled every space she entered.

Gloria’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Known for her quick wit and playful sense of humor, she was a true jokester who lit up every room with her presence. Whether she was singing, dancing, or simply sharing stories, Gloria brought joy to all who gathered around her. She had a gift for turning everyday moments into cherished memories.

Among her favorite pastimes was playing Mexican lotería with friends—a tradition that brought not only fun and laughter, but also strengthened the bonds she held so dear. A devoted homemaker, Gloria poured her love into every detail of her home, creating a warm and welcoming space where family and friends always felt at ease. Her home was a sanctuary of love, filled with the aromas of lovingly prepared meals and the sounds of shared stories and laughter.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Miguel Gonzalez, and her parents, Benito and Antonia (Hinojosa) Vela.

She is survived by her children: Maria Criselda Gonzalez-Garcia (Jose Luis Rodriguez), Ludvina Gonzalez-Garcia (Juan Jose Hinojosa), Vilma Gonzalez-Garcia (Gilbert Reyna), Maria A. Gonzalez-Garcia (Alvaro Moreno †), Alejandro Gonzalez-Garcia (Silvia Reyna), Hervey Gonzalez-Garcia (Elena Marquez), and Bertha A. Gonzalez-Garcia (Javier Salaiz); as well as numerous grandchildren, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Gloria’s absence leaves a profound void, but her legacy of joy, love, and resilience lives on. Her spirit will forever echo in the laughter of her family, the warmth of her traditions, and the many lives she touched.
