Hilda Medellin

Weslaco- Hilda Medellin, 86, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away April 13, 2014 at her residence in Weslaco. She was born in Weslaco, TX on July 15, 1927 to Guadalupe and Olivia Balderas Pena. She was a lifelong resident and a Weslaco pioneer. She was a faithful member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rafael Medellin; an infant son, Cesar Medellin; and brother, Martiniano Pena.
She is survived by her sons, Irahm Medellin and Guadalupe Rafael Medellin; a daughter, Hilda Medellin, all of Weslaco; and 4 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Weslaco. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be family friends.
