John Hernandez

October 17, 1970 — March 16, 2021

Weslaco-John Hernandez, 50, passed away on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021, Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. John was a true light in this world, he was a competitive baseball player from childhood into high school, he had a killer smile that charmed the ladies on the dance floor. He also drew the crowds at karaoke where they lovingly called him Mr. Easy as he opened his night on the stage with the song “Easy” by The Commodores. But behind that persona he was also a son, a brother, and a friend. We each have very fond memories with our brother, John, and as our hearts are heavy with grief, we will reach for those memories in the coming days as we comfort one another. His light will continue to shine through us who love him with all of our hearts and will miss him without measure.

“And my heart is sinking like the setting sun. Setting on the things I wish I’d done. The last goodbye’s the hardest one to say. This is where the Cowboy rides away.”
