I was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Joe Calvillo Jr.
We were fellow educators when we first met years ago. He was Director of Vocational Education/Weslaco ISD and I was Director of Adult Education Programs/McAllen ISD & Region One ESC.
Following many conversations, we realized that we were possible distant cousins. We started calling each other "Primos." He was, in my opinion, the most intelligent and articulate individual I had ever met. In all facets of his life he strove and excelled in all his endeavors.
My sincere prayers, condolences and sympathies to his family during this difficult time. May he rest in eternal peace in our Lord's Celestial Kingdom.
