Santa Elena- Lisa Renk, 59, passed away at Mission Regional Medical Center on January 1st, 2023, after a courageous battle with COPD. Lisa was born on January 29th, 1963, to Harold and Evelyn (Russell) Young in West Monroe, Louisiana. She grew up in Ouachita Parish with four siblings.
Lisa moved to Texas in her twenties. She married Fred Renk in her late twenties. She and Fred lived in the tiny town of Santa Maria, where they managed their business, the Santa Maria Bullring. Lisa was a natural entrepreneur and marketer. Over the next thirty years, Lisa and Fred would host hundreds of bullfights and serve countless spectators. Lisa was outgoing and loved a good time. She made many lifelong friends through her business and small community.
Lisa was somewhat obsessed with tattoos, so she had plenty of cool ones and a story to go with each of them. She also loved spending time with family and friends and listening to music. Lisa also loved traveling and was fortunate enough to take many vacations.
Lisa was a Christian and believed in Jesus Christ. She was a firecracker, loads of fun, but generous and humble. Her genuine interest and concern for others attracted so many to befriend Lisa.
She is survived by her husband of thirty years, Fred Renk; son, Jimmy Tyson; siblings, Bud Young, Cindy Labor (Anthony Barros), Teressa Williamson (Bobby), Bridget Young, and Michael Young; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
