Maria G. Luna

Weslaco- Maria Gallardo Luna, 87, loving mother, grandmother and sister, passed away November 5, 2013 at her residence in Weslaco, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 1, 1926 in Laredo, TX to Basilio and San Juanita Cruz Gallardo and was a lifelong member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Weslaco. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
When angels visit us, we do not hear the rustle of wings, nor feel their feathery touch. But we know of their presence by the love in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raul Luna; her parents; and siblings, Fidel Gallardo, Manuel Gallardo, Lazaro Gallardo, Oscar Gallardo, Basilio Gallardo Jr. and Asension Gallardo. She is survived by her loving children: sons, Raul (Gloria) Luna, Roberto (Ignacia) Luna, Carlos (Dora) Luna and Abel (Senaida) Luna; daughters, Cristina (Santos) Marmolejo, Elisa Luna and Diana (Roberto) Carter; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Antonio (Elena) Gallardo, Amador (Emeteria) Gallardo, Ramon (+Dora) Gallardo and Felix Gallardo.
Viewing will be held today, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 5pm to 9pm and Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 1pm to 9pm, with a rosary at 7pm at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
