Petronella C. "Pat" Kuehler Nash

October 3, 1916 — December 3, 2013

Edcouch- The Lord Jesus Christ called Petronella Catharina “Pat” Kuehler Nash, age 97, home on December 3, 2013 to live for eternity. Pat was born October 2, 1916 in Rhineland, Texas to Fred and Margaret Keuhler. Her family moved to the Valley in 1933. Pat was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by her family, friends and loving neighbors.
Pat spent most of her life in Edcouch and was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Edcouch. She spent many years as a seamstress sewing for the public out of her home. Raised on a farm, she was most comfortable keeping busy. She loved to can fresh tomatoes, make homemade jam from her peach trees and squeeze her own fresh orange juice. She was a strong Christian woman and gave God the glory constantly.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Frank Nash of Edcouch; her 3 sons, Wayne Richard Nash, Marvin Ray Nash and LeRoy James Nash; 8 brothers, Jim, Felix, Herman, Fred, Emil, Clarence, Walter and Jerry Kuehler; a sister, Mildred Hoff; and grandson, Randy Nash.
Pat is survived by her sister, Dutch Kuehler; daughter-in-law, JoAnne Nash; granddaughter, Rhonda Nash; great grandchildren, Grayson and McKenzie Nash; grandson, Rusty Nash; and granddaughter-in-law, Maxine Nash.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of Pat’s loving neighbors, and especially Jaime and Angie Mendoza. Jaime was very involved in Pat’s life in her latter years and the family would like to express their gratitude for such a loving friend to their mother and grandmother. We would also like to thank Lalo and Bertha Reyes, Tona Eberly, Claude Guinn and all of her special health care providers over the years for everything they did for our loved one. We know there are many others who are not named and we mean no disrespect. God sees all and we wish to thank you all.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 6705 N. FM 88 in Weslaco. Pastor Julio Guarneri of Calvary Baptist Church of McAllen will be officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
