Ricardo Palomo

September 19, 1968 — August 20, 2019

Weslaco- Ricardo Palomo, 50, passed away tragically on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Ricardo was born in Goshen, New York, the third born of six children, on September 19, 1968, to Jose and San Juana Palomo. His family migrated up north most of Ricardo’s life, and he and his four brothers and sister learned the value of hard work from a very young age. Ricardo began driving trucks with the family business when he was only a child.

Ricardo attended school most of his life in Weslaco where he graduated high school in 1987. During high school, he played football for the Weslaco Panthers and fell in love with his soulmate, Teresa Ramirez. Ricardo went to South Texas Vocational Technical Institute for a few years and married Teresa in 1993. Ricardo’s always had a passion for truck driving, and he loved his Peterbilt. After he and Teresa were married, he made a career doing what he loved and was able to provide a beautiful living for his wife and three children. Ricardo was driven to succeed and never turned down a job to support his family. His work ethic was excellent, and he sacrificed many sleepless nights to provide a comfortable living for his family. Ricardo was an avid reader and loved to listen to talk radio. If he ever listened to music, it was always “oldies”. When Ricardo was around, the room was lit up and full of laughter. He had a great sense of humor and always had a great joke to tell. He was a great cook and loved to barbecue with friends and family. Ricardo made sure to include Teresa and the children on his summer road trips, memories they will always cherish, traveling all over the United States.
