Virginia "Gina" Aguilar

July 7, 1948 — June 7, 2025

Weslaco-

Virginia "Gina" Aguilar, whose vibrant spirit and fierce love left an indelible mark on all who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home on June 7, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 7, 1948, in McAllen, Texas, Gina lived a life rooted in joy, compassion, and unshakeable faith.

Gina met the love of her life, Albert Aguilar, in her youth, and together they shared fifty-six beautiful years of marriage. Their home was a sanctuary of laughter and love—a place where everyone was welcomed, whether you were family, a friend, or simply passing through. Albert's steadfast devotion to Gina was a testament to the extraordinary bond they shared.

Gina’s professional journey began in the medical field, where she served as a Medical Clerk with genuine care and empathy. After relocating to Wisconsin to be near their children, Gina brought her Southern warmth with her and began a new chapter at the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles. She retired in 2013, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, integrity, and kindness that deeply touched coworkers and customers alike.

In 2014, Gina and Albert returned to their roots and a much warmer climate in South Texas. They settled in Weslaco, Texas, where they enjoyed time with friends, family, and each other.

Though proud of her work, Gina shone brightest in the heart of her home. She was the architect of cherished family traditions, preparing delicious meals and hosting joyful holiday gatherings that created lasting memories for generations to come. Her kitchen was filled not only with good food but also with warmth, laughter, and love.

Gina’s unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life and her proudest accomplishment. A true prayer warrior, she carried a deep spiritual strength that she generously shared with others. Whether praying for a friend in need or extending kindness to a stranger, Gina embodied God’s love in action. Her church family played a vital role in her life—first at Good Shepherd Church in McAllen and later at the Assembly of God in Milwaukee.

Known for her one-of-a-kind style, Gina had a legendary passion for fashion—especially shoes. She owned a pair for every outfit and every occasion. Her signature flair? Leopard print—if it came in leopard, Gina had it and wore it proudly. Her bold style perfectly reflected her personality: confident, colorful, and unapologetically her own.

She also expressed her creativity through crafting, often making gifts and keepsakes with love. But above all, her heart belonged to her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy—the light of her life. Her love for them was boundless, and the memories she created will live on in their hearts forever.

Sassy, kind-hearted, and wonderfully unfiltered, Gina had a gift for making people laugh and speaking the truth with wit and warmth. You never quite knew what she would say next—but it was always genuine, and often hilarious. She brought color and joy to every space she entered.

Her legacy is one of unwavering love, bold spirit, and unforgettable presence. Gina’s energy lives on in every laugh she inspired, every act of kindness she gave, and every story she leaves behind.

Forever sassy. Fiercely loved. Unmistakably Gina.
