Adela Cano's Obituary
Weslaco-
Adela Cano, 63, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. She was born on August 7, 1962, in Weslaco, Texas.
Adela had a gift for making people feel at home, often through the meals she lovingly prepared. She owned and operated a restaurant in Elsa for several years, where her famous enchiladas and baked goods kept friends and customers coming back again and again.
Family was the heart of Adela’s world. She adored her grandchildren and filled every holiday with joy and wonder for them. Whether it was Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, or the Fourth of July, her home was always beautifully decorated to celebrate the season and create lasting memories.
She also cherished her time with her husband, Honorio Soto. Together they enjoyed road trips across Texas—Dallas, Waco, Houston, and especially San Antonio, where Adela loved to shop. They also shared many peaceful days fishing at the Arroyo or relaxing by the beach, savoring the simple joys of being outdoors together.
Adela is preceded in death by her parents, Amadeo and Tomasa (Enriquez) Cano. She is survived by her husband, Honorio Soto; her son, Abraham Cano (Kelly); her daughter, Andrea Cano; and her beloved grandchildren, Serenity Renae and Luis Fernando Cano.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
