Alejandro Galvez, a proud son of Mercedes, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on June 24, 2025. Born on August 1, 1961, Alejandro lived a life defined by resilience, passion, and an unbreakable spirit.

Alejandro was known not only for his work as a dedicated truck driver, but also for the vibrant life he led outside of it. A true baseball enthusiast, he passionately supported the La Villa baseball team and played in various leagues throughout the years, always eager to share his love of the game. Equally devoted to the tradition of rooster training for competitive fighting, Alejandro approached the hobby with the same heart and discipline he brought to every pursuit.

He was a man who believed in living fully—finding joy in good company, lively music, and weekend barbecues surrounded by those he loved most. His laughter, generosity, and stories left lasting impressions on all who knew him.

A man of deep Catholic faith, Alejandro often drew strength and comfort from his beliefs, grounding his life in prayer and devotion.

Alejandro is preceded in death by his parents, Sabas Galvez Jr. and Sara Martinez Galvez.

He is survived by his children, Sara Niño (Abel), Alex Sandra Galvez-Melgar (Juan), Mary Ann Romero (Roberto Jr.), Senaida Galvez (Rogelio Tamez Jr.), Tanya Galvez, Veronica Herrera (Ricardo), Vanessa Galvez (Salvador Olivarez), Elizabeth Galvez (Mario Gelacio), Alejandro Galvez Jr. (Gina Solis), and Ashley Galvez.

His life will be celebrated with a visitation at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes, Texas, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and on Sunday, June 29, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Alejandro will be laid to rest on June 29 at 4:00 PM, a peaceful farewell to a remarkable life well-lived.

As we remember Alejandro, let us celebrate the vibrant spirit he brought into our lives, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering love for those around him. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts as we carry forward the lessons he imparted—of love, joy, and the importance of making our voices heard.
