She married Salvador Lopez Vasquez in 1968 in Mexico and this union was blessed with seven children, of which the first born did not survive his infancy. They moved to the United States in the early 1970’s and were married until the 1990’s. Alicia never remarried and immersed herself in the raising of her last two children and her work as a Pet Groomer.
While married Alicia raised her older children in the San Joaquin Valley in California and later in the 1990’s she raised her youngest two boys in the Coachella Valley in California. In 2018 she relocated to Texas and was taken care of by her daughter, who moved in with her after she retired in 2022 to look after Alicia with the onset of her illness.
With the progression of Alicia's illness, she was moved in to assisted living. A short while later Alicia entered the hospice system of Southwestern Texas on September 24, 2025 and passed away on September 26, 2025, at approximately 11:17 PM, at the age of 76 years . The family expresses their gratitude and thanks to all the nurses and doctors for the compassionate care that Alicia received.
Alicia enjoyed spending her time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She was independent and self-sufficient and enjoyed maintaining both her and her daughter's home when she moved in, traveling to visit family, gardening, listening to music, going to the casino, shopping at the second hand stores, and watching her telenovelas.
Alicia is lovingly remembered by her children; Jose from California, Josefina, Salvador, Damian "Ray" from South Texas, David from Ohio, Jorge from Kentucky, and all of her seventeen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, extended family, relatives, and friends.
