Ann Marie Garza's Obituary
Weslaco- Ann Marie Garza, 49, passed away on April 30, 2026. She was born on September 7, 1976, in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Marie had a deep love for history and took great joy in learning about her family’s genealogy. She was an avid dog lover, and her pets were truly her “furry” children. She also enjoyed watching movies and classic television shows, listening to music, and dancing. Marie especially loved to travel, with a special fondness for the beaches of Florida and Mexico.
Marie was a loyal and devoted friend who treasured her lifelong relationships. She had a natural gift for caregiving, a role she embraced throughout her life. As a young woman, she lovingly cared for her grandmother and later for her parents. Though she did not have children of her own, she was a proud and devoted aunt—her nieces and nephews were her world. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she cared for countless beloved pets and kept a watchful, caring eye on her neighborhood, which she loved dearly.
A devout Catholic, Marie received all of her sacraments in her thirties. She had a deep thirst for knowledge and spent many hours studying her faith, reading the Bible, and praying for others. She found peace and comfort walking her dogs along the Stations of the Cross at San Martín de Porres Catholic Church.
Marie will be remembered as a kind, honest, and loving woman with a truly generous heart. She was fiercely protective of those in need and always willing to stand up for others.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Heriberto Sr. and Oralia Garza, and her beloved dog, Molly.
She is survived by her sister, Elisa Hernandez (Joe); her brother, Heriberto Garza Jr.; her nieces, Vanessa Garza and Corrina Garza; her nephew, Niko Garza; her great-nieces and nephews, Olivia Borrego, Gianna Lima, Ceres Marie Garza, Jonah Lima, Joseph Hernandez; and her beloved dog, Canelo.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco at 2 p.m. Marie will be cremated, and burial services will be held privately.
