Arcadia Minerva Flores -Cassidy's Obituary
Weslaco- Arcadia “Katy” Minerva Flores-Cassidy, 52, passed away on Monday, March 21st, 2016. Arcadia was survived by her loving husband, Joseph Patrick Cassidy of 17 years, her mom, Ermelinda Flores, her son, David Matthew Morin (Windy) of Harlingen, her brother, Ruben (Delia) Flores III, of Richland, Missouri, her grandchildren, Arianna and Gabriella Morin, nephews, Ruben Flores IV, Ryan Flores and niece, Melinda Flores.
Katy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Flores Sr. and Mrs. Rafaela Posada and her father, Ruben Flores Jr.
Katie was a nurse at Valley Baptist for over 20 years, working in the ICU and assisting the doctors with saving many lives over the years. She worked at McAllen Heart Hospital for 2 years, and then worked in hospice for 7 years.
Katy loved life and everyone in it. She and Joseph rescued pets for many years. She had a special love for animals. Katy had a heart of pure gold and everywhere she went she spread love with her special smile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
A celebration of life will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco, 2pm and at St. Theresa Church in San Benito, 5:30pm.
