Barbara Loretta Wagoner

March 23, 1935 — August 25, 2014

WESLACO – Barbara Loretta Wagoner, 79, passed away at Knapp Hospital in Weslaco on Sunday night after a sudden illness.
Barbara was born to Carl Rydell and Ellen in Long Beach, CA on March 23, 1935. She graduated from the Long Beach High School and attended three years of college. Upon the death of her first husband, she remarried and moved to Akron, Ohio where she raised a second family. In 1992 she and her present husband moved to the Rio Grande Valley and eventually to John Knox Village in Weslaco. Barbara loved to knit, paint and was very interested in religion and current events and was a member of the ALPHA PHI Sorority.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Wagoner, sons Kent Graham, Eric Cunningham and Scott Cunningham, daughters Jan Graham and Catherine Cunningham, grandchildren Ian Cunningham, Chelsea (Cunningham) Pethtel, David Gardner, Alan Graham and Tristan Graham, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are her brother Ray Rydell and sister Jodi DeLapp. She is proceed in death by her first husband and parents.
A celebration will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 6:30 pm at First United Methodist Church in Mercedes, TX with Pastor Kevin Harden officiating. Her ashes will be returned to Fairlawn, Ohio for interment. McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco is in charge of her funeral arrangements.
