Bobby and his wife Judy were our wonderful neighbors here in The Greens Section of Augusta Pines Subdivision in Spring, Texas. All of us here and at the golf club have missed seeing Bobby so much. We will never forget all the times that he walked his dogs, Bevo and Coby, and he would stop in front of our house to talk about UT football and politics. When he wasn't in his 'burnt orange' golf cart, Matt would pick him up to hit golf balls, then they would enjoy lunch together at the club. Bobby and Judy were both loved so much by their family. When Judy went home our streets were lined with cars as far as you could see with his family gathering to pay their respects. Our family is grateful for his support in nominating my brother Tommy Lucas #80, for the UT hall of honor. We all miss you Bobby. Until we meet again !! Matt and Sally Montgomery

Bobby will always be my hero. I first saw him play against Harlingen High when I was 12. Of course, Weslaco won. When I moved to Weslaco in 1972, Bobby helped me join Rotary in August 1972. We played golf a few times. He was so good but always humble. He was a great citizen for Weslaco city, school and chamber of commerce. He was a good family man. He and Judy were always there for their kids and grandkids. He will be missed but never forgotten.

God Bless to the family of Bobby Lackey. He was a great man and we want to thank him for coming to the aid of my Brother, Tommy Lucas who played football beginning in 1955 at the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife lived down the street from my Sister and Brother-in-law and they played many days of golf at the Country Club where they were members. We will never forget your efforts Bobby at the University of Texas. Thank you.

I've known about Bobby Lackey for many years. I was at TCU when Bobby played at Texas and Coach Royal dubbed us cockroaches. I finally met Bobby in 2005 when I moved to Augusta Pines and we played a lot of golf together in our old guys group. We always sought each other to talk about the Southwest Conference and football and whether TCU would beat Texas once again. He was a fine gentleman and I've missed him since he moved back home. He always talked to my wife when she was out walking and he was out with his pups. God bless him and I'm sure his wife has welcomed him back in her arms.
My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

Bobby Lackey was a giant of a Weslaco legend. My grandmother loved to share how, as a young boy, Bobby was always playing baseball & football in her barrio on North República St , with 2 other Weslaco icons, A N. "Tony" Rico, & my uncle Weslaco Mayor Joe V. Sánchez.
I loved to share this memory with him whenever I would see him, like at this WHS Panthers game, where he flipped the coun toss in 2019.
My deepest condolences to John, Lissa, Mindy & all the Lackey family on their great loss!
Hook 'em, Bobby Lackey!
