Johnny Luna
Dan was my friend and colleague at South Texas College (Mid - Valley Campus) for the past 3 years. He was my \"neighbor\" (the office right next to mine). He was the coolest person and the best colleague\/neighbor anyone could ever ask for. Dan was a ray of sunshine in our campus. Whenever you were down, you just talk to him and his smile and words would make you forget about the bad day you were having. As an art professor, he taught with emotion and gusto. I remembered that he had a 3-D machine in his office that he would use to demonstrate to his students and they would be at his office almost daily listening attentively to his words. I would joke with him about asking him to ask his department to get one for a math teacher. He laughed and would tell me to tell my department that I needed it for a project that the machine would help me do. Also, his students thought very highly of him as I would hear from them. Although I never had a chance to meet his wife and kids, I am absolutely sure he was the greatest dad and husband they could ever ask for. He was like a brother more than a friend. Dan was someone you could just joke around with or be serious with. He would listen as well as give advice and just brighten your day. He will sorely be missed and there will be a void in my heart because of our loss. My heart (and condolences) go out to his wife Karen and his three kids Cynthia, Delany, and Preston. Heaven has truly gained an angel.\n\nSincerely,\n\nJohnny Luna (Math Instructor - STC Mid-Valley Campus)
