Delores Ann Boultinghouse's Obituary
Delores Ann Boultinghouse, 79, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025. Born in Corpus Christi and raised in Robstown, she later met the love of her life, Jake Boultinghouse, at a dance in Alice, Texas. They married on March 18, 1967, and from that day on built a beautiful life grounded in love, commitment, and family.
Jake worked for CPL, and Delores built her career as an educator. Though they had opportunities to transfer, they chose to remain in Weslaco to provide their daughters with a stable, nurturing home. Working for the school district allowed Delores to stay close to Tonja and Tassy, a blessing she treasured. She was never particular about which grade or subject she taught—what mattered to her was being at the same school with her girls.
Delores had a servant’s heart and poured her time into volunteering. Whether lending a hand with Pacesetters, organizing school activities, or baking cookies and treats for fundraisers, she was always the first to show up and the last to leave. As her family grew, that same devotion stretched effortlessly to her grandchildren. She could be found at every baseball game, livestock show, scout ceremony, and celebration—always cheering, always proud.
One of Delores’s greatest joys was hosting. Whether a formal dinner or a casual backyard barbecue, she delighted in opening her home to family and friends. Her gatherings were known for thoughtful touches, warm fellowship, and plenty of good food. Christmas, in particular, was her season to shine. She transformed her home from top to bottom, filling it with Santa figurines, beautifully themed trees, and so many presents that you needed a path to reach the wonderfully decorated tree.
Delores lived with joy, energy, and a contagious zest for life. She brought laughter into every room and showed remarkable strength—lifting others up even while managing through her own chronic pain. Her faith was reflected in the way she cared for others, living each day with grace, gratitude, and a steadfast love for her family. Her devotion knew no limits when it came to her family, and she never missed a moment that mattered.
In recent years, the Boultinghouse women began a cherished girls’ weekend tradition—one they plan to continue every year on her birthday as a tribute to her joyful spirit and the legacy she leaves behind.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Jack A. and Lela (Rauch) Willoughby, her loving husband, Lelan “Jake” Boultinghouse, and her brother, John Willoughby.
She is survived by her daughters, Tassy and husband Mitch Beasley, and Tonja and husband Robby Gatton; her granddaughters, Casey Gatton and Haley and husband Lupe Betancourt; her grandsons, Boomer, Jake, Joe, and Lee Beasley; and her sister, Karen Woodall.
A memorial service to celebrate Delores’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 25th, at 3:00 p.m at McCaleb Funeral Home.
