My mom & I have the dearest memories of your mom and grandmother. For many years my mom, Thelma McVey and she were a breavement team at St Mark UMC; they delivered many a meal to church families. During one busy December, Mrs Compere was memorably present for my mom during a post emergency eye surgery coming by frequently during that busy December to administer eye drops. Then on Christmas Day, Mrs. Compere left her own home filled with 20 guests to deliver dinner to my mom. This meant so much since the emergency had resulted in my mom cancelling her travel plans & was spending the day alone. Truly, there's never been & never will be a greater keeper of Christian faith or example of what it means to walk with Jesus. For me personally and no doubt all her knew her, Mrs. Compere WAS St Mark UMC. She was the warmest, kindest and most graciously generous person, always in our presence to give and do whatever was needed. For many recent years, she and my mom have shared a spot in the weekly St Mark bulletin list of shut-ins. Our prayers are with Mrs. Compere still and with her family.
