Erasmo Rodriguez, 50, passed away at Edinburg Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Erasmo was born in Weslaco, Texas, on June 9, 1972, to Linda Louise Wilson Rodriguez and Guadalupe M Rodriguez. Erasmo met his life partner Amy Garces almost 20 years ago.
Erasmo and Amy raised their two children together in Edinburg. Erasmo was a hard worker, a handyman trait, and dedicated his life to caring for his children. Erasmo was a graduate of Weslaco High School and a graduate of Gary Job Corp.
Erasmo was a loving father, brother, and partner. He was known as his favorite uncle as he loved to attend family events and play basketball and football with his nephews. Erasmo developed a loving relationship with all his nephews and nieces. He was also a great father that provided for his children and made sure they had all their needs met. Erasmo had a heart of gold, full of compassion for others, and never hesitated to help someone. He would light up a room with a positive personality and charismatic smile. Erasmo was talkative and known to strike a conversation with anyone.
Erasmo is preceded in death by his father Guadalupe Rodriguez. He is survived by his partner Amy Garces and children Samantha Rodriguez and Eduardo Joel Rodriguez of Edinburg, his sisters and brother Tina Marie (Gerardo) Oliva, Nielda (Johnny) Martinez, Guadalupe M (Sandra) Rodriguez, Vinita Rodriguez, Jovita (Don) Shives, and Victoria (Ruben) Ramirez and numerous nieces and nephews.
