Edinburg: Esteban “Steve” Coronado, a faithful servant of God and beloved father, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on July 3, 2025, at his home in Edinburg, embraced by the love of his family.
Steve was born and raised in Donna, Texas, the middle child of nine. He came from humble beginnings, growing up in a home marked by faith, hard work, and deep family bonds. The Coronado family spent half the year as migrant workers—an experience that involved everyone, including the children. His parents, Marco Sr. and Juanita Coronado, were God-fearing Christians who modeled unwavering faith and perseverance. From them, Steve inherited a strong work ethic and a steadfast commitment to both family and faith.
He graduated from Donna High School in 1984 and later earned an Associate's Degree from TSTC. Steve thrived in the automotive industry, where his talents and values quickly earned him leadership roles. He served for many years as a service manager and, for the last fifteen years, worked as one of the top service advisors at the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Harlingen. Steve brought energy and warmth to every day, making those around him feel seen and valued—whether they were colleagues or clients.
A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Steve cheered for his team with unwavering loyalty, rarely missing a game. He also found joy in the outdoors—fishing, hunting with his sons, and playing the occasional round of golf. These simple moments under the open sky became the backdrop for some of his family’s most cherished memories.
Steve married his soulmate, Isabel Lopez, thirty-three years ago. He was a devoted husband and a loving, hands-on father. He supported his sons in every way, offering encouragement, wisdom, and a steady presence at every milestone. Whether cheering from the stands at a sporting event or worshiping in church as his son Stevie sang, Steve’s heart was full, grateful to witness the gifts God had given his children. Family gatherings—especially during the holidays—were meaningful to him, always filled with laughter, connection, and love.
What mattered most to Steve, above all else, was his unshakeable faith in Christ Jesus. A dedicated member of his church (Templo Nuevo Pacto), he found deep joy in sharing the gospel and lifting others through praise and worship. Known for singing loudly in the shower—often to the amusement of his family—Steve’s passion for worship was both contagious and heartfelt. He was supportive of his family’s mission work in Mexico, countless church activities with his time, resources, and love. Everything Steve did was done with a joyful heart and a servant’s spirit.
Steve is preceded in death by his mom, Juanita (Alfaro) Coronado. He is survived by his loving wife, Isabel Coronado; his dad, Marco Coronado Sr.; their children, Esteban “Stevie” Coronado Jr. and Jacob Romeo Coronado; his siblings: German Coronado (Veronica), Pablo Coronado (Graciela), Nohemi Arce (Roel), Leopoldo “Leo” Coronado (Lupita “Lupe”), Arturo Coronado (Annabell), Juan Marcos Coronado, Delia Coronado (Elias Cantu), and Marco Polo Coronado Jr. (Leticia); his best friend, Xavier Calderon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.
Steve’s legacy is one of gentleness, strength, and wholehearted devotion. He was a protector, a motivator, and a source of unwavering support to those around him. As we celebrate his life, we hold close the love he gave so freely and the faith that anchored him.
