I spent yesterday afternoon, last night and this morning thinking about my aunt Evelyn Onderdonk Holland. Even though I didn't get to see her very often because of the distance, I will miss her! I love all of my aunts, but Evelyn was special. She was young and beautiful and only in high school when I was in elementary school. I remember Evelyn and Ernest coming over to the house for lunch when they were in high school. I don't remember how many times they came over, but I remember it was a big deal to me. Evelyn was more like a big sister than an aunt. I can remember all of us feeling protective as guys would ask her out on dates and that I didn't like any of them (out of kids jealousy) until she brought Jack Holland home. They were a special couple and had two great kids.
