I was a college student when Frances Isbel hired me to work part time at the Weslaco Public Library. My experience working with a compassionate and positive person like her impacted my educational career.

She was a priceless valuable asset for the community. I still remember she happily welcomed me and treated me like her son when I met her first time regarding historical marker questions for our company. I really miss her.

Although I'm very sad by the passing of my dear mentor Fran, I take comfort with the memories that I have of our many years at the Weslaco Museum, our trips to the Texas Tropical Trail Region events, and other events in our area. It has been a privilege and a blessing to have known this amazing Lady, our dear Fran.

Fran Isbell was my first boss here in Weslaco, at the public library. May her memory always be for a blessing for her friends and family.
