Jimmie B. Fulcher's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Jimmie Bob Fulcher
Jimmie Bob Fulcher, 99, of Weslaco, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on April 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 15, 1927, in Muleshoe, Texas, Jimmie was the son of Jim Rouster Fulcher and Avis Mae Williams Fulcher. He was raised in Sudan, Texas, in a large, close-knit family alongside his five brothers and two sisters, relationships he cherished throughout his life.
On October 26, 1945, Jimmie married the love of his life, Annie Lucille Woods. Their marriage was a lasting example of devotion and partnership, and together they built a life centered on love and family. They were blessed with four children: Jimmy Wayne Fulcher (Jane Ann), Bobby Fred Fulcher, Elizabeth Ann Mize (John Mize), and their infant son, Charles Dean Fulcher, who preceded him in death.
At the age of 18, Jimmie proudly served his country in the United States Army, earning recognition as a Rifle Sharpshooter. After his military service, he began a career in the oil field that would span decades. Starting as a roughneck, he rose through the ranks by hard work and determination to become a Superintendent. His work took him across the United States and abroad before he retired at the age of 62.
In his retirement years, Jimmie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved dancing, traveling, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He especially treasured trips to Idaho, where he enjoyed the beauty and peace of the mountains while visiting family. He rarely missed a family reunion and took pride in staying closely connected to those he loved. At home, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, generously sharing its harvest with family and friends.
Jimmie will be remembered for his quick wit, warm sense of humor, and the way he could brighten any room. He had a special gift for making others feel valued, often checking in with a call or visit just to make sure they were doing well. His kindness, loyalty, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Family was the cornerstone of Jimmie’s life. His love was constant, his support unwavering, and his presence deeply cherished. His legacy of laughter, strength, and devotion will live on in the many lives he touched.
