Jose Cervantes' Obituary
Weslaco: Jose Luis Cervantes, 82, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021. Jose was born on March 13th, 1938, to Jose Cervantes and Guadalupe Aguirre Cervantes in Mexico.
He spent most of his life in Weslaco, where he graduated from high school and technical college. After earning his necessary education, Jose went to work in television repair. He worked for Jacob’s TV repair and Williams Repair for several years.
Jose had an entrepreneurial spirit and eventually opened Mid Valley TV and Repair Services, which he owned and operated for the rest of his career.
Jose was a smart man, he had his way of showing love. He loved to take his kids out to the track when they were young and spend time running. Jose was brilliant and self-taught, he learned how to read blueprints and even built his own home.
Jose is preceded by his parents, Jose and Guadalupe Cervantes, daughter, Christina Cervantes, and his brother and wife, Pablo Cervantes (Martha).
Jose is survived by his daughters, Guadalupe Gomez (Juan)of Weslaco, Cynthia Herrejon (Lucio) of Davenport, Florida, sons, Gilbert Cervantes of Weslaco, George Luis Cervantes (Raquel) of League City, and Roy Cervantes (Alicia), of Weslaco, sisters, Florestela C. Galindo (Casimiro+) and Rita C. Tovar (Efrain), both of Weslaco, grandchildren, Lucio Herrejon Jr. (Eerum), Christine Herrejon, Daniella Herrejon, Michelle Gomez, Crystal Gomez, Jacqueline Dalme (Tyler), Jayme Rose Cervantes, Michael Cervantes, David Cervantes, Hosmara Albarran, Sophia Salas, great-grandchildren, Graham, Callen, and Riley Dalme, nephews and nieces, Richard, Robert, and Anna Cervantes, Albert Avila, Rolando Galindo, Janie Alaniz, Pablo Galindo, and Lupita Tovar.
The family would like to thank FMC Weslaco Dialysis, Calvary EMS, Dr. Quach, Dr. Bradley, Texas Visiting Services, City of Weslaco Ambulance Weslaco Police Department.
The visitation will be Monday, February 1st, 2021. Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 2nd, 10 am, at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes
