Kaylinn Mae Churchill's Obituary
Kaylinn Mae Churchill was born on October 9, 1990 to her loving parents, Timothy and Carole Churchill as the youngest of four siblings. Kaylinn tragically lost her life on August 13, 2025 due to the selfish decision of a drunk driver. Kaylinn grew up in Temperance, MI until 2012 when she moved to Fort Worth, TX to selflessly devote herself to care for her mom after many health struggles. While caring for her mom, she also began building her life with Josh Carter and in 2015, they started their own family. Kaylinn and Josh have two precious daughters, Carolina and June.
Becoming a mom to Carolina and June was the most important role she ever filled. Kaylinn believed in raising her daughters to be genuine, good people above all else and this came so natural to her. She always made a conscious effort to lead her daughters by example with her patience, kindness, grace, integrity and grit. She genuinely poured each and every one of her best qualities into her daughters and because of this, she has created the two most genuine, kind, gentle spirited souls who are both truly beautiful from the inside out. Her daughters will carry on her legacy as they both radiate her love and her light.
Kaylinn’s role as an aunt cannot be topped. She loved her nieces and nephew fiercely and would drop everything for them, at any time. She would show up for them every chance she could, whether that be sports, school, a ride, an event, someone to watch them, a positive and encouraging word, a listening ear, or just support in general. She was simply the best. She would never turn down an opportunity to spend time with them, she was the person who would be there for them, no matter what.
Kaylinn was the definition of pure kindness and she spread it everywhere she went. Her loving, genuine, compassionate and selfless spirit was noticed by all who crossed her path. Kaylinn would do anything for someone in need, regardless if she had the extra time/energy/funds/whatever was needed at the moment, she would find a way to make it happen. She believed deeply in the importance of showing others love and grace, even strangers. Everyone who knew her has a memory of her going out of her way to help someone in need, sometimes even to the detriment of herself. When Kaylinn saw a need she could meet, she’d meet it without hesitation. Karma often came back around in the sweetest way for Kaylinn; she would frequently meet people who would go above and beyond to do something extra kind or generous for her. It was always fun to hear about these experiences because they were undeniably a reflection of the energy she exuded, coming back to her. People were truly drawn to her; her warmth and compassion were contagious.
Kaylinn had the BEST sense of humor and loved to laugh, especially at herself. Her family and friends coined her infectious laugh, ‘The Kaylinn Cackle.’ Her cackle will forever be remembered and bring a smile to the faces of everyone who loved her. Kaylinn was playful and never took herself too seriously. She loved playing pranks on those she loved and always appreciated a good prank played at her expense just as well. Pranks on her sisters, Josh, Carolina, June and her nieces and nephews were her specialty and we will forever remember and appreciate all of the belly laughs those pranks brought.
Anytime there was a gathering with friends or family, Kaylinn would gravitate to the kids. She always loved being around the playful energy of kids and often preferred their company over “adulting.” She was gifted at relating to kids; in return, kids loved her patient, soothing energy and how she was genuinely interested in what they had to say. Kaylinn was the mom who other moms knew would always care for their children as her own.
Kaylinn was an exceptionally talented artist, although she didn’t have much time to dedicate to painting since becoming a mom. She made art and creativity a priority for her daughters, along with any kids who would visit her home. She was never concerned with the mess if it meant more love and laughter for the kids. She whole heartedly believed life was all about spending time with those you love, making memories and never put her focus or attention on material things.
Kaylinn was passionate about saving the earth and knew that even the simplest of acts can create ripples of change. Her habit of picking up litter when out and about was more than a routine, it was her starting the ripple that her nieces and nephew followed. Next time you see a piece of litter, pick it up and throw it away, and know she is smiling down on you.
Kaylinn is survived by her husband- Joshua Carter, daughters Carolina and June Carter, father Timothy D. Churchill, step-mother Kimberly Kuhn, siblings Julia (Brian) Peterson, brother Timothy R.
