McAllen -Liliana Carranza Gonzalez, 61, a cherished homemaker and beloved member of her community, passed away on April 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 17, 1963, in Chihuahua, Mexico, Liliana was known for her resilience, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her strength of character and devotion to her beliefs left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Affectionately known as Tía Lili, Liliana devoted her life to her family, whom she loved fiercely. Her greatest joy came from nurturing her children and grandchildren, and she took immense pride in the home she built—a place filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aromas of her delicious cooking. Christmas Eve, her favorite day of the year, was always a special time when she brought her loved ones together in celebration and love.
Liliana’s vibrant spirit shone through in every aspect of her life. A passionate fan of El América, she cheered on her favorite soccer team enthusiastically. She embraced life’s little joys—dressing up, wearing her favorite perfumes, getting her nails done—and brought style and grace to everything she did. She loved dining out, especially enjoying sushi and steak, and found great delight in traveling. Her heart held fond memories of visiting Guanajuato, and she often dreamed of one day exploring the beauty of Italy.
Liliana’s presence was a gift, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Liliana is preceded in death by her dad, Juan Carranza Lara; her father-in-law, Amaro Gonzalez Tamez; and her mother-in-law, Bertha Guajardo de Gonzalez.
She is survived by her mom, Esthela Chavez de Carranza, her loving husband, Juan Antonio Gonzalez, their son, Maximiliano Carranza; sisters, Claudia Carranza Chavez, Carmen D. Garcia, Berenice Carranza, Esthela Carranza, Fezaydee Carranza, Erandy Carranza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at McCaleb Funeral Home, 900 W 4th St, Weslaco, TX, 78596. She will be laid to rest in Guanajuato.
She is survived by her family, who will continue to carry her love, strength, and faith legacy. Liliana Carranza Gonzalez leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her, and her spirit will live on through the memories she created with those she loved.
