Graham Tyner
Louella, is my first cousin and we were the remaining first cousins alive, of our extended family Texas Tyner's. To her cousins, she was always known by a childhood nickname that I'm sure many of her lifelong friends of the Valley weren't aware of, and that was Puddin or Pud, for short. A name that obviously did not really suit her as an adult, but unfortunately she got stuck with by all her nick-naming Tyner relatives! But for this, I will stick with Louella.
Publishing a childhood memoir a few years back, which included times of our families living close to each other many years ago, Louella really helped me nail down some of her family history. For instance I always wondered, how did her dad, my Uncle Walter, being from South Georgia decide to settle in the Rio Grande Valley? And how did he become the prosperous farmer that has led to establishing a solid foundation for succeeding generations. I was really impressed by her honesty, because like in any family's history, it wasn't always a bowl of cherries.
During any of our family meetings and her recent assistance with my book, what stood out to me about my cousin Louella, was her non-showy, knowledgeable, down-to-earth, genuine integrity. She was a very attractive lady her entire life and will be sorely missed by many!
