Luis Angel Ramirez's Obituary
Mercedes – Luis Angel Ramirez Sr., 65, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. Luis was born in Mexico to T. Burcio Ramirez and Josefina Juarez.
Before starting his family, he proudly served in the Mexican Military. After marrying Blanca Perez, they settled in Mercedes, where they raised their children. Luis worked as a mechanic, a trade in which he excelled. Though he never had a formal education, he was exceptionally intelligent and could fix almost anything. His hands were skilled not only under the hood of a car but also in carpentry—he was a talented woodworker who built beautiful furniture.
When he wasn’t working, Luis enjoyed fishing, especially along the local canals. He approached fishing with patience and strategy, enjoying the quiet moments it provided. Luis was also artistic and found joy in painting and drawing. In the evenings, he often relaxed by watching Spanish movies.
A man of faith, Luis was Catholic and believed in Jesus Christ as his Savior. He deeply loved and respected his parents and had lifelong friendships with his siblings. Above all, Luis was a devoted husband, a faithful provider, and a loving father and grandfather.
Luis is survived by his beloved wife, Blanca; daughters, Yolanda Lopez (Eliud) and Griselda Lira (Hugo); son, Luis Angel Ramirez Jr.(Jeannine Beaupre); siblings, Gregoria, Agueda, Lourdes, Esther, Fela, Juany, Candelo, and Fernando; grandchildren, Pamela, Emily, Eliud, Ebba, Eian, Erin, Emmy, Renata, Sethe, and Nichole; his close friends, Anselmo Hinojosa and Santos Marin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
