I met Lyn in Holdrege, NE when I taught him how to fly and I also farmed so Lyn was my go to guy for my irrigation needs. We became good friends and even took his Piper Tri-pacer airplane to the EAA Airshow in Oshkosh, WI. It was an antique so we parked on the airfield and stayed in tents under the wings. We spent lots of time flying together and talking airplanes. Lyn always studied everything he could about the engines and planes and had a great knowledge of how everything worked.
When my wife and I started wintering in Weslaco, Tx, I was surprised to find out we lived just a few miles apart. We texted, called and Lyn stopped by to visit us is Weslaco. I was just thinking I needed to reach out to him again when I found out he had passed. I’ve lost a great flying friend.
