Maria M. Gonzalez, born on July 22, 1954, in a world that she would soon enrich with her presence, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, at the Weslaco Nursing and Rehab. She was a cherished member of the community whose vibrant spirit and kindness touched the lives of many.
Maria's faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devout Catholic, she lived her life guided by her spiritual beliefs, finding strength and comfort in her faith. This devotion was reflected not only in her personal life, but also in her compassionate interactions with others.
Throughout her life, Maria cultivated a variety of interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She found pleasure in the challenge of puzzles and crosswords, often relishing a moment of quiet while embracing the intricacies of each task. Her creative spirit was also evident in her love for crochet, allowing her to express herself artistically while creating gifts for loved ones. Music resonated deeply with Maria, who enjoyed singing and dancing, bringing light and laughter wherever she went.
Maria is survived by her sons, Sergio Gonzalez Jr. (Maria) and Jorge Gonzalez (Ana), grandchildren, Sarahi, Sergio III, Selene, Nicolas, Leshay, Jorge Jr., Jada, Renesmee, and Elena.
Maria is honored by her family and friends during this time of remembrance. Funeral services will be held at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco, Texas, starting with visitation on June 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and continuing on June 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will take place on June 22, 2025, starting at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will occur on June 23, 2025, at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a burial at Highland Memorial Park at 11:00 AM.
Maria M. Gonzalez will be remembered not only for her passions and faith but for the warmth she shared with those around her. Her legacy will continue through the love and memories she has left behind.
