Maria B. Ramos' Obituary
Maria Ramos, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and the unwavering heart of her family, entered God’s kingdom on November 18, 2025 after a brief struggle with cancer at the age of 86. She was surrounded by the people who loved her most.
Maria had a deep love for singing and dreamed of becoming a singer. She sang with passion and power, her voice strong and heartfelt, the kind that could stop a room and touch your soul. When she sang, you felt it. Her voice carried emotion, love, and a spirit that was uniquely hers.
Maria was born on February 27, 1938 in China, Nuevo León, Mexico and spent her early life traveling as a migrant worker alongside her family. No matter where life took her, she always found her way back to Weslaco, Texas, the place she proudly called home.
She was defined by her strength, her devotion, and the kindness she offered so freely. A hardworking woman all her life, Maria poured her energy into caring for others. She was the glue and the backbone of her family, steady and reliable, always making sure everyone had what they needed.
Maria was a devoted wife to Felix Ramos, and together they raised nine children who were the center of her world. She built a home full of warmth, laughter, and the comforting smell of fresh tortillas. Anyone lucky enough to taste one straight off her stove, especially with a little butter, knows just how special her cooking was. It is a memory her family will hold close forever.
Generous to her core, Maria never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Whether it was offering support, a warm meal, or simply being there when someone needed her, she cared for her family with a tenderness that shaped generations. Her legacy is one of love, strength, and the countless ways she showed up for others without ever expecting anything in return.
Maria is survived by her loving husband Felix Ramos of 70 years and their nine children, Isabel (Juan Mendoza), Felix Jr, Alicia (Carlos Sanchez), Maria Elena (Jaime Gonzalez), Gloria (Javier Ramirez), Joel (Julissa), Christina (Paul Cruz), Orlando (Vicky) and Isaac (Melissa). Along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many relatives who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Preceded in death, son and daughter Joel and Doratia Ramos, granddaughter Judy Gonzalez, parents Reveriano and Maria Isabel Garcia. As well as her siblings, Carmen, Natividad, Petra, Isidra, Simon, Dolores and Jose Leonardo.
Maria’s presence was a blessing, her love a foundation, and her memory a song that will continue to live on in everyone who loved her.
