Marshel Cravey's Obituary
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Marshel Chester Cravey, who passed away on February 2, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, TX, at the age of 60. Chester, as friends and family fondly called him, was born on June 1, 1963.Chester graduated from Weslaco High School in 1982 alongside his brother Jimmy. He pursued further studies at TSTI Harlingen, obtaining a degree in air conditioning and refrigeration. Chester continued his education by attending the University of Houston, Tarrant County Community College, and Pan-American University.Chester is preceded in death by his parents Marshel and Manuela, stepfather Zaragosa Hinojosa, and brother Zaragosa Hinojosa Jr.He is survived by his brothers, Jimmy Cravey and Robert Hinojosa, sisters, Nettie Jane Hernandez and Dalia Lira, along with ten nephews and five nieces.Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCaleb Funeral Home, 900 W 4th St, Weslaco, TX 78596.Chapel service is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at McCaleb Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service, 11:00 a.m., at Highland Memorial Park, 6705 N Farm To Market 88, Weslaco, TX 78599. A reception will be held at McCaleb Funeral Home after the interment.He will be laid to rest in a beautiful, peaceful setting near his mother and brother.Jimmy Cravey, Julian Hernandez, Seth Josiah Hernandez, Julian Gerardo Hernandez, Jesus Lira, and Jonathan Lee Christman will be pallbearers. The Honorary Pallbearer will be Josue Manuel Hernandez, Army PFC 173rd Airborne, Currently stationed in Germany and unable to attend the funeral services.We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and flowers for Chester and the family.
