Nellie Sandoval Carrillo's Obituary
Nellie Sandoval Carrillo, age 87, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on January 12, 2026, at home with her family by her side.
Nellie was born on January 1, 1939, in Conception, Mexico. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious enthusiasm touched the hearts of all who knew her. Nellie’s dedication to her faith and her work as a migrant worker served as an inspiration to her family and friends. Her impact on the lives of others was truly remarkable, a shining example of what it means to live a life of purpose and compassion. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by two infant children, Jose Gomez, Jr. Genaro Sandoval, Reyes Sandoval, Pablo Sandoval, Martha Rada, Maria Anita Sandoval, Lupe Mendoza, and Romulo Sandoval.
Survivors include Rogelio Carrillo, Charles & Rosa Brockman, Maria Anita Gomez, Dean & Elizabeth Lawrence, Feliciano & Kristen Gomez, Phillip & Belma Gardner, Matilde & Tom Reed, Omar & Rosario Hernandez, Rigo & Elvia Alvarez, 33 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, as well as several extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 10 am to 9pm Friday, January 23rd, followed by the Funeral Service at 10 am, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the McCaleb Funeral Home, 900 W 4th St., Weslaco, TX 78596. Burial will be in the Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers for Nellie will be Romulo T. Sandoval, George Gonzales, Jose A. Gonzales, Mark Gardner, Luckas Gardner, Jose M. Gomez, Zayden Wimer, and Michael Pantoja.
