Rob rode on by school bus throughout grade school, but Rob and I officially met in Junior High when he was cast as Dr. Gibbs in "Our Town," and I was Mrs. Gibbs. He was so popular, and I was in awe of him -- his humor and kindness. In high school and college years (I, too was at U of M, but not in the Greek system) we kind of did our own thing; so when he was a salesman in Texas and contacted me in Denver, I was pleasantly surprised. He came through on a business trip and met my husband and me for dinner. We caught up and I encouraged his thoughts of going into English teaching (the subject I taught before becoming a school counselor). I was so glad that he achieved what he dreamed. Once we became facebook friends, I followed his wonderful life, along with his wife's and kids' (I'm sorry I never had the pleasure of getting to know them).
Anyhow, word sometimes travels slowly, and so I just found out today of the deaths. I am deeply saddened, but know they are in a great place together. Best wishes to his mother and family during this difficult time!
