Robert Wisner

November 6, 1948 — February 22, 2022

Edinburg - Robert Iranaeus Wisner (Bob, Bobby), 73, passed away on February 22nd, 2022 at Mission Regional Hospital in Mission, Tx. He was born in Mercedes, Texas on November 6, 1948.

Upon graduating high school, Bobby served in the United States Army in Garmisch, Germany. While stationed there, he traveled and explored the surrounding sights and sounds, and wholeheartedly embraced the German culture.
This marked the beginning of his passion for traveling.

His perspective on different cultures and the knowledge he gained as a world traveler gave Bob a much deeper appreciation for life, music, and a never-ending desire of meeting people. These experiences helped shape him into the beautiful being he was with everyone. He had the skill to encompass those new memories and he willingly shared them with others through his singing, guitar playing, song merging/twisting, unique storytelling, and of course his ability to make people laugh with his Tex-Mex antics. If you knew Bob, you knew his distinct outlook on life made him a rare gem.

He attended many universities abroad where he learned more about art appreciation, video production, and music. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Art from the University of Texas Pan American. Bob taught special education (life skills, art, and woodworking) for ten years. He always passed down his teachings and experience to his family, friends, and strangers alike.

A true nature-lover and adventurer is what he was all about. He hiked and skied mountains, swam and surfed the oceans and beaches; he even ran with bulls in Spain. One of his passions was sailing the bay on South Padre Island. He loved it so much, he and his wife Stella decided to start a business on the island.

We will continue to carry on his favorite phrase “Pura Vida” which encompasses and sums up his love for life. He planted seeds that will continue to grow in all us for years to come. His one-of-a-kind charisma will be forever remembered in our minds, body, spirit. The world was a better place with him in it.
