It made me sad to hear of Benita's passing. It brought back memories of when I lived in the Valley years ago We always enjoyed eating at Harold's Country Kitchen and spending time with the family although we knew you better than the others, Linda. I talked to Benita in her later days and I was glad that she was able to be close to you and Kent, Linda. Herman and I loved you so much Benita. The years went by so fast. You and Nina , my little sister were close to the same age.and Linda and I ( OLIVE. ) WERE THE SAME Age AND THE VERY BEST OF FRIENDS. We all would go to Harolds Country Kitchen and have the best time. Memories!!!!! Later in life you lived in Donna still.snd we live on Westgate. When you were running around, it was great that you would surprise us and drop in for a coke and cookies. Going to Gospel meetings were very special times. We will always have you in our hearts. Rest in peace , dear friend.
Sitting at Harold’s old house on, she was sitting at the rocking chair telling me all about her fun times with her good old friend Mary. I just loved teasing by saying I’d send her a message in Facebook and would almost jump out her chair saying “ you better not “. That expression never changed over the years, looking back - I wish I had messaged Mary.
She was one of a kind and marched to her own beat. She was never a follower and was never afraid to be herself. One of my earliest memories was going out with her Aaron, Jr, and Sam to have pizza at Pizza Hut in Donna in her Buick.
