Ruben Garcia Espinoza's Obituary
Combes- Ruben Garcia Espinoza, 68, passed away on March 7, 2026. He was born on March 3, 1958, to Guadalupe and Paula Espinoza in Edinburg, Texas.
As a young man, Ruben proudly joined the United States Army. After being honorably discharged in 1977, he began a career in construction, eventually becoming a skilled and highly respected boilermaker. Throughout his career, Ruben worked for numerous companies, most recently Halliburton and Tesla. His work allowed him to travel extensively, giving him the opportunity to see different parts of the world and experience new cultures and places.
Ruben had a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. One of his greatest joys was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was truly “born to ride” and loved the freedom and adventure that came with the open road. Ruben enjoyed attending motorcycle rallies and spending time with fellow Harley enthusiasts who shared his passion.
He was also a talented handyman who could fix just about anything. Though he was a man of few words, Ruben’s actions spoke clearly about the kind of person he was—faithful, humble, disciplined, and deeply loving toward those closest to him.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Paula Espinoza, and his brother, Rene Espinoza.
He is survived by his life partner, Hilda Espinosa; his daughters, Amber Espinoza Law, Victoria Mitchell and her husband, Lamar, and Emily Espinoza; his sister, Rosa Cantu; his brother, Roberto Espinoza and his wife, Katie; his grandchildren, Bianca Wade, and her husband, Cliff, Chelsea Espinoza, Savannah Espinoza, Atlanta Mitchell, Winston Mitchell, Waylon Mitchell, Josiaus Morris, and Elijah Morris; his great-granddaughter, Malasia Tice; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ruben will be remembered for his quiet strength, his hardworking spirit, and the love he carried for his family and friends. Whether he was working with his hands, traveling for work, or riding down the open highway on his Harley, Ruben lived life on his own terms. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCaleb Funeral Home. Military honors will be followed by a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m.
