I worked with Rufina at Valley American Bank. She was so much fun; always smiling and so helpful. She said things to me that no one should ever say to a pregnant woman. We became fast friends and still laughed about her comments years later. We could go months at a time without speaking to each other and then one of us would call the other and it was like no time had past at all. I am so sorry for your loss; no words can truly express how much she touched my life and the lives of those around her. I will miss her deeply.
I worked with Rufina on the CBU at Memorial Hospital South Bend. She always had a smile on her face. She went out of her way to help not only her patients but her work family. She was truly an amazing person to work with. This is a very sad day for us working on the front lines of this COVID to loose one of our own...

A good friend of mine in South Bend- we met at work and became good friends. We went to the Oprah show twice , Chicago many times, lunches and my best memory was Rufina bringing her famous taco salad to my lake home! Rufina came to my house to graciously babysit when I went into labor two times! I couldn’t have done it without her! For that I’ll always be grateful! That’s what friends are for! Fly high with the angels amiga!💕💕
