Sergio Gonzalez Sr.'s Obituary
Weslaco- Sergio Gonzalez, Sr., 70, passed away on February 8, 2026. Sergio was born on April 1, 1955, to Natividad and Olivia (Castillo) Gonzalez. He devoted his entire career to working at the Rio Grande Sugar Mill, where he was known as a hardworking, dependable man who was always an early riser and someone others could count on.
Sergio loved music and dancing and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He was kind, humble, and always happy, with a warm spirit that made time spent with him special. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends and sharing good times together.
Sergio is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Sergio Gonzalez Jr. (Maria) and Jorge Gonzalez (Ana); and his beloved grandchildren, Sarahi, Sergio III, Selene, Nicolas, Leshay, Jorge Jr., Jada, Renesmee, and Elena.
Visitation for Sergio will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, and Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 1pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Sergio will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park.
