I’m sorry to hear of Sue’s passing. She was my first administrator when I entered teaching at WEHS in 2003, a transplant from Washington State. She already led like she had been principal there for years. She’s someone I’d always hoped to catch up with or drop in on someday, during a long overdue trip to the Valley. I pray she is at peace in heaven and for comfort for her family.
To Mrs. Peterson’s sons,
I hope that you can take comfort knowing how much your mom was loved by others. We are so very sorry for your loss.
I just learned of Susan Peterson's passing in today's Monitor (12/19). I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She and her late husband, Rob, were a vital part of Weslaco. I had known them both almost since I first moved to Weslaco in 1989. So sad to lose them both within a month of each other.
May her memory always be for a blessing for her family and friends. She will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Peterson was my principal at Roosevelt Intermediate and at East High. Her genuine, kind, and encouraging personality made school during those years great. She positively impacted thousands of students in her career, and I’m lucky to have been one of them. Thank you, Mrs. Peterson. Condolences to her loving family.
I met Sue when she started working at Cuellar many many years ago. She was a resource teacher and what a job she did with those kids. She was so devoted and passionate about making sure they received what they needed. Those taco sales were very popular! As she climbed the ladder Sue always stayed humble and true she never changed. She never forgot anyone. Always asking about us it was not about her. She was a very good boss to my husband Coach David Castro. She always would back up his soccer program. Always making sure if they needed anything and always supporting them rain or shine win or lose. We will always remember Sue! May you Rest In Peace

Mrs. Peterson was the best boss anyone can have. It was my honor to be her secretary and friend for 23 years. Rest in peace with your love. Always Janie Rodriguez
